Letter I Picture Book
To start our study of the letter I and a week of fun activities, we read the book Groovy Joe: Ice Cream & Dinosaurs by Eric Litwin. We talked about how the word ice cream starts with I. Then I showed my daughter what an I looked like in the book and we searched for other I's. I made sure to pick a book that matched the picture that we would create next for our alphabet art book.
Letter I Alphabet Art Book
For the alphabet book we are working on, we added I is for Ice Cream. We decided to color the cone with our new Magic Stix markers. You can leave the cap off for a week and they don't dry out! For the ice cream part we glued cotton balls on top of the cone. The alphabet book is part of my Alphabet Centers with Real Pictures.

Letter I Identification
We practiced identifying the letter I in all different fonts with our I page from our Alphabet Centers pack. Instead of her normal dot marker, I just gave her one of our Magic Stix markers to use. This is an easy activity that she can do while I'm setting up the next activity.
I is for I Spy
Since I is for I Spy, we pulled out one of our I Spy books. I read it to her and she searched for the item in the picture.
