I have put together a huge (over 75 pages) sight word freebie. Sight words are so important for early readers to practice so they can become effective readers. When assembling this freebie, I broke it into 4 different types - practice page for specific words, playdough/tracing mats, sight word bump game and generic practice sheets that can be used with any sight word or spelling list. Because there are SO many different sight words, I didn't include them all. I tried to get a good variety of words from different levels PreK-2nd. The generic spelling sheets can be used with any words at any grade level, so there is something for everyone.
What's The Word pages are a great review of the word and give practice by tracing, writing, identifying, filling in missing numbers and coloring the word. Easy, no prep practice, just print and use.
Spin and Read Bump is a fun and easy game to practice reading sight words. There are directions on each page. Just add a pencil and paperclip to use as the spinner and then each player needs 10 markers to cover their pieces. Math manipulatives, mini erasers, small pieces of paper all work well. Each game has different words with varying levels of difficulty.
Playdough sight word mats are a great way to practice sight words with your tactile learners. Just print and laminate the boards. Then give your students some playdough and have them roll it into "snakes" to form the letters on the board. Read the word you made and then move on to the next one. If you don't want to use playdough, you could use these as tracing mats with dry erase markers as well.
And sometimes you just need some different ways to practice spelling words and sight words. These forms are generic so you can use them with any grade level and any word. Each page has directions and I've also included sample pictures to see what each page should look like. This is a great way to add variety to practicing sight words. No more just writing the words. B-O-R-I-N-G! Make it fun and mix it up with some new ways to write words.
