We are loving our farm unit at our house. We've had so much fun reading farm books and learning to graph using farm animals. Most of the activities are things both my 2 and 4 year old can work on, but this Farm Alphabet Match was something I made just for my 4 year old. I wanted her to practice matching upper and lowercase letters in a fun way.
I made multiple game boards that focused on a different 5 or 6 letters. We pulled out some decorative stones to cover the spaces. We also used a paper clip and crayon to make an easy spinner. Just hold the paper clip with the crayon in the center of the circle and spin the paper clip around the crayon. We took turns spinning and identifying the letter. Then she would search for the matching uppercase letter and cover it with a stone. We would keep doing this until all the letters were covered.
She did a great job of matching these but still got confused with letters that looked different like G and g. She also got confused with p and q and b and d which didn't surprise me. We need to keep working on these but I know that developmentally they will come with time.
These spin and cover farm alphabet match games are part of my Farm Preschool unit. You can check out the unit HERE. If you are looking for more farm ideas, check out my Pinterest board with all things FARM!!!
