Preview: Holiday Bingo is perfect so students can learn about Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Diwali in a fun game. 30 different game boards plus brief explanation of the different holidays and vocabulary words.
For my daughter's holiday party at school this year, we decided to do five different rotations. I offered to run Christmas Bingo, until we realized not all of the children celebrated Christmas. In an effort to be more inclusive and to introduce all the students to new holidays, I decided to make Holiday Celebrations Junior Bingo. It includes images and vocabulary words for winter, Christmas (secular), Christmas (religious), Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and Diwali.
I made a junior version because I figured the 16 squares total and only needing to get 4 in a row would be easier for kindergartners. I made 30 different game boards so that each one is different. There is a color and a black and white version.
I printed and laminated the boards and then grabbed mini erasers from Target to use as pieces to cover the squares. I cut out my calling cards and printed out the information sheet. I did a little research on each holiday because I wasn't super familiar with them myself. I also included the specific vocabulary unique to that holiday. This sheet was helpful to give the students a little background knowledge as we played.
